(Mounteverest.net/Madrid) Project-Himalaya team leader Jamie McGuinness has just reported the news from South Col over sat-phone: Two Sherpas have reached te summit of Everest at 3:25 pm, local time.

Summiteers are Namgyal Sherpa, with Jamie's Project-Himalaya team, and Pemgya (?) Sherpa, with Arun Treks. Theirs are the first Everest summits attained this season from the south side.

The Sherpas fixed ropes up to the South summit, and then broke trail to the main summit, according to Jamie.

As for project-Himalaya's leader and members, they are on their marks in C4 at the South Col, getting ready to attempt the summit tomorrow. Another eight or ten groups, Jamie calculated, share the same plan.
