(MountEverest.net) With a hurricane on their heels; Simone and Denis ran for their lives from Makalu's summit straight back to BC yesterday. And now the summit pics are up.
Meanwhile in Mexico, Manaslu summiteers Yuri and Laura are preparing to attempt Everest in spring.

“Ciao ragazzi!,” Simone cheered yesterday. “We are safe in base camp after descending 2000 meters today. Karl Gabl told us that a 160 km/h hurricane was on the way, so we rather descended all the way down to BC. We are tired...so today I am "only" posting some summit photos.”

Spring 2009: Yuri and Laura ready for Everest
All systems are going for Mexican climbers Yuri Contreras and Laura, whose upcoming Everest expedition just got support from their home town Leon’s city mayor, Vicente Guerrero. “We won’t fail – our life is at stake,” they stated on their website.
Yuri and Laura, who summited Manaslu last autumn, hope to kick-off their next expedition in 40 days.
