The Man who Climbed the Sky: April celebrations of Angelo d’Arrigo in Boulder and Taormina

Posted: Apr 14, 2006 01:31 pm EST
Angelo d’Arrigo died on March 26, 2006 when a small Sky Arrow plane piloted by a retired military general fell 200 meters to the ground. Through his life, Angelo's research led him to unique achievements in the skies of every land he flew over: Following desert hawks he became the first man to cross the Sahara and the Mediterranean in free flight without using a motorized aircraft; migrating Siberian cranes took him across Siberia and Himalayan eagles inspired Angelo to fly over Everest. The remarkable adventurer's final flight was over Aconcagua following the flight of the condors.
