Chang-Ho Kim afterwards trekked the Annapurna area with climbing partner Mr. Chi-Young Ahn to scout future climbs. Ahn is in Himalaya to attend a memorial at Cholatse for two perished Korean climbers.
The service will be held on November 11, exactly one year after Hyung-Il Kim (44) and Ji-Myoung Jang (32) fell at 6,000 meters on the north face of Cholatse (6,440 m) while trying to open a new route on the Himalayan peak. Their remains were found at 4,700 meters.
