First lady of Everest calling maids of honour to reunion!

An e-mail just arrived from no less but Junko Tabei, chairwoman of the Himalayan Adventure Trust-Japan - and the first woman to summit Mount Everest. Tabei is organizing a big party to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her ascent. The place is Kathmandu and the date is October 31 this year.
The call is for all the female Everest summiteers who have not yet received an invitation:

“Since 2005 is the year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first woman reaching the summit of Mount Everest, (May 16th, 1975), we are organizing an anniversary event in Kathmandu on October 31st, 2005.”
“It will be hosted by Nepal Mountaineering Association (President Ang Tshering Sherpa) and the Himalayan Adventure Trust-Japan (Chairperson: Junko Tabei). We are trying to send invitations to all the women summiteers; but we are aware that we do not have the complete list and may inadvertently omit some.”
“In order to ensure that we can send a formal invitation with the details of the anniversary party, if any woman who climbed Mt. Everest has not received one, please let us know by e-mail or by fax, indicating her name, address (tel., fax, email), the route climbed and the date of summiting.”

The reunion will be intimate; out of around 2000 Everest summiteers, only around one hundred are women.
Junko Tabei (Japan, 1939) was not new to Himalaya when she came to Everest. Devoted to mountaineering since she was 10 years old, the little Japanese lady summited Annapurna III in 1970 through a new route, along with Hiroko Hirakawa and two Sherpas (it was the second world ascent of the peak).
She summited Everest through the normal South Col route along with Ang Tshering Sherpa on May 16th, 1975, becoming the first woman on top of the world. Junko also summited Shisha Pangma in 1981.
