(Correne Coetzer) Sending over an Everest avalanche video to Explorersweb, Norwegian Teodor Johansen asks not to forget the damage and the challenges in the small villages.
Teodor made the avalanche video with Irish team mate, Paul Devaney. While trying to take cover under the table in a tent, exclamations can be heard, “That is huge…that is huge…!”
Grateful to be alive, Teo says to Exweb it was a most scary situation.
Currently the team is at Pheriche. The destruction is big in the villages, Teodor told Explorersweb. "The classical stone houses in this village are mostly destroyed, but people have started building them up again."
"Here is enough food, but it will take some time before the village will be back to normal. Right now most focus is on Kathmandu, but it is important not to forget the big challenges the smaller villages also have."
In January 2012 Teodor Johansen became the youngest person who crossed Antarctica on foot. In 2013 he summited Manaslu.
