Progress on Everest - Climbers on the South Side have reached Camp III at 7300m and on the North side climbers have spent the night at Camp I, the North Col, 7000m. Some tents at Camp II, 6800m, on the side have been blown away by high winds. Cathy and Ian O'Dowd are going for a new route on Everest's North-East face - after some deep snow on the route to their secluded BC, they should have arrived this past week. Video from the North Pole - Ben Saunders left from Borneo, Russia, headed for the Pole this past week. Through the use of Contact 2.0 and his PDA, Ben has already sent a sensational 11 second video clip from the high Arctic. Skiers almost at check point 2 in the Polar race - Polar Team is currently in first, followed by Initial Style Explorers who are hot on their trail. Extreme Steps and ViP3 are pulling in the rear at third and fourth respectively. Video from Camp II - Scott Woolums and his Adventure's International Everest team have sent back video from the route to Camp II, direct from the mountain with the use of Contact 2.0 Ocean Rowing update - Simon Chalk continues to make steady progress across the Indian Ocean. He is currently the only rower out there, but won't be for long - a pair of Brits are waiting for the weather window to present itself, and they'll be following Simon's wake across the Indian Ocean. Base Camp medical clinic - Luanne and her crew have been pretty busy, treating anything from minor infections to full blown HACE from too rapid an ascent to base camp.
