- WiFi on Everest in '99, live summit video attempts, live dispatches from anywhere on Everest through Contact 2.0 - All this past week MountEverest.net ran a five part series about all the technology that has surrounded Everest and looks ahead to see what the future will bring.

Netia Winter K2 expedition - The summit bid has started! - If all goes to plan they should be in position for the peak around mid-week.  When the final summit bid begins ExplorersWeb will be there non-stop, day and night, to bring you the latest!

:  Severe winds blew away their camps, so the team has decided to climb Broad Peak in alpine style - light and fast.

Andrew Halsey keeps on rowing - Despite a lashing in the British press last week, Andrew has dug his heels in and answered the critics with a strong performance on the high seas.  This past week he has made consistent  progress westwards, making up miles lost in the unfavorable conditions he encountered in January.  The goal - A solo Pacific Ocean row that will end in Australia.

No O2 on  K2 - Who was the first to climb K2 without the use of oxygen? A dialogue has emerged in e-mails to ExplorersWeb regarding the first ascent of K2 without supplementary oxygen.
