Himalaya wrap-up: K2 team 1 pulled from climb; Iran alone on Nanga; China's conditions for climbing

(K2Climb.net/MountEverest.net) Tension is mounting on K2 where a gas accident pulled the entire team 1 from the peak. Now only 5 climbers from team 2 remain high up on the slope. On Nanga Parbat, the Iranian team has split in two - 3 climbers are at present climbing the peak alone, with the fixed ropes buried by deep snow.

Over in Nepal meanwhile, trekking agencies report that China will open for climbing. Conditions; screening of climbers and obedience of Chinese law...
