Ocean Rowers Wrap-up: Four boats remaining

(TheOceans.net) Last week two more boats made it to Antigua; one pairs and one single.

Mark 3, the 15th boat to finish the Race (11th in the Woodvale Pairs class) crossed the finish line on Monday Feb 6 at 1308 hours GMT (68days, 1hr, 3min). Less than a day later came the first Solo rower Chris Martin in his boat Pacific Pete at 0324 GMT Tuesday Feb 07. In spite of a journey riddled with problems from the start, Martin managed a crossing time of 68days, 15hrs, 19min.

Four racing teams left

With only four boats left in the Woodvale Atlantic Rowing Race, the support vessel is paying routine visits to the remaining boats making their way to Antigua.

Roz seems to have finally caught a break in weather conditions following a frustrating few days. “Conditions superb," reports Roz. “This is what we've been waiting for…want to make the most of it while it lasts.”

The all female RowGirls are closer than ever to Antigua and reported about 180nm to go on Friday. “We expect to have a slightly pronounced zig zag today as the winds try to take us off course,” reported the team. They are due in to Antigua at any moment.
