Posted: Jan 22, 2008 03:27 am EST
(TheOceans.net) Beyond the northern tip of Australia, across Torres Strait, lies the second largest island on earth.
Paddling around Papua New Guinea, Aussie Andrew Hughes will be launching from hundreds of kilometres up the remote Fly River, then head for the coast and not stop until he reaches the northern border with Irian Jaya.
Andrew will be reporting live during the six months and about 4000 kilometres that the expedition will span.
"Expedition will start in: 100 days, 09 hours, 48 minutes, 27 seconds," was today's countdown. Stay tuned...
The sea kayak expedition to Papua New Guinea will be documented online via the expedition website (links section).
