12 adventurous individuals
Designed to be easily rowed in moderate conditions and to be stable when surfing at speed in following seas, American Spirit is a multihull rowing boat. Skipper Al Droker wants you onboard.
In addition to skipper/navigator systems engineer/coach AORT requires 12 adventurous individuals to make up the crew of 14 for the west to east leg of the expedition. The Newfoundland to Scotland end of May to end of July 2007 leg will require seven weeks away from normal commitments/occupations.
You need no experience, but must be an American citizen with a valid American passport at the time of the voyage. Aged 21 or over, you should be of reasonable fitness, posses a real appetite for adventure and appreciate the level of commitment required to break ocean rowing records.
To make sure you are commited, if selected as one of twelve crew you will be asked to pay $1050 dollars January 2006 as a crew training security deposit . After completion of training Jan 2007 your deposit will be refunded in full providing you have complied with training and other schedules. Training dates will be arranged with crew and will not exceed two per month.
