- Provide support to sponsors.
- Liaise with media. Organise live interviews from Antarctica.
- Act as expedition trouble-shooter.

“No salary is offered. However, this high profile role provides a unique opportunity to be a vital team member in a world-beating polar expedition and to exhibit organisational, presentational and inter-personal skills to a wide and varied audience.”
Application details

Inspired by this website, John Wilton-Davies rose from his couch and made an announcement, "I'm going to ski to the South Pole". In his 2006-07 quest, the father of two from Exeter, UK, spent nine weeks on the ice, and covered just over one degree away from the South Pole.
In the 2010-11 Antarctic season John and fellow Brit, Justin Miles, will attempt a 2200 km return ski expedition to the South Pole from Hercules Inlet, unassisted, unsupported – a feat that has never been done before.
