(Newsdesk) Preparation and training are key elements to the success of an expedition; in particular training the mind - to endure, persist, visualize, concentrate, focus, and more.
Last week polar cyclist Juan Menendez Granados gave us a bit of insight how he trains his mind for his planned cycle expeditions across Greenland and to the South Pole. In the current Pakistan Summer season, a few days ago Czech mountaineer Zdenek Hruby died on the descent of Gasherbrum 1. His climbing partner, Marek Holecek, said, "It was a moment of inattention. Zdenek slipped and fell about a thousand meters down into the crevasses."
A moment of inattention. Lost of concentration, lost of focus.
Concentration and focus are not only part of the training, but also key until the Pole is reached or Base Camp is reached after the summit or descending from high altitude, or the ocean is crossed; until the end.
Watch this video on the left to get inspired to practice to perfection, and to focus and concentrate on the now in reaching the goal in the end.
