Project MeteoMundi: collecting weather and climate change data in the Arctic and Himalayas

(Newsdesk) Davide Peluzzi shot over some news from Italy about Project MeteoMundi, designed to detect and monitor weather and climate in extreme environments and to observe and study all the differences in temperature and precipitation over time with professional installed monitoring stations.

Peluzzi explains:

"In a painstaking study of weather and climate, as I'm doing this for years, even with the writing of the thesis Madrigals on climate change, it becomes essential to have a mapping network installed in accordance to weather and climate on WMO criteria with reliable data and as far as possible, interference-free monitoring.

Greenland is one of the most important areas for this network, MeteoMundi, which is why it is chosen as the start of the project. It is the largest island in the world and is situated in the extreme Arctic environment.

Climate change, after careful and meticulous study, have led to the discovery of a serious cause-effect triggered by the interference of the jet stream of the free atmosphere and the polar vortex with major impacts on thermal phenomena and meteorological and ground observation by the Apennines, the Alps, the Himalayas and the Arctic.

Greenland is, for its exceptional size and strong presence of surface ice, the most important place in the world for monitoring weather and climate. Having a specific basis for the observation supported by a network of weather and climate under detection, it is the starting point of a unique project that will have enormous repercussions for data collection and tracking climate change.

Three professional weather stations will be placed in strategic places such as the eastern part of Greenland near Angmagssalik, a more inland and more inhospitable area near the glacial mass in a fjord in the west, and on the coast between Baffin Bay and Davis Strait.

To stress the importance of this climate project, it will be a data network constructed in accordance with "picky" to get more reliable data than ever; given the presence of many weather stations not in compliance or out of date installed in the world.

To study how the Madrigals climate thesis focuses on the movements of the configurationally Jet Stream and the polar vortex, linked to cycles of expansion and contraction of the important polar depression located at high altitude, it becomes a vital network of reliable data acquisition from high latitude neuralgic; a monitoring network of unique importance for climate and professional installation with a meticulous and precise monitoring points."
