A total of 13 summiteers are reported that day (and probably season), including 2 Chinese and 2 Nepali Sherpa, all on O2.

Zuzana Hofmannova became the first Czech woman to summit BP but went missing on descent and is reported dead in Czech media and on Czech wikipedia.

ExplorersWeb's correspondent in Pakistan Karrar Haidri reports High Altitude Porter Muhammad Baqir, 35, from the Sadpara village in Skardu died on Broad Peak. Baqir was brother of the late Ghulam Raza who died climbing a 6000 meter peak in 2002.
