Winter Broad Peak search: Two Pakistanis on the mountain

Artur Hajzer: "There is still no contact with the two missing climbers. Artur Małek and Karim Hayyat reached Base Camp."

"Visibility is good. Expedition leader is able to see the route through the telescope. Camp IV remained in place, at an altitude of 7,400m. The physical condition of Artur Małek and Adam Bielecki is good - they do not have any frostbite."

March 7, 13h00 local time:
Artur Hajzer: "We confirm that early in the morning two Pakistani climbers, Shaheen Baig and Amin Ullah, left for Camp 3 at 7000m. Their task will be to further view and observe the peak of the dome from different directions where possible, from the camp and higher in case. At night the two climbers descend down to the base."

On March 5th, 2013, Maciej Berbeka, Adam Bielecki, Artur Małek and Tomasz Kowalski bagged the first Winter Broad Peak (8047m) in the Karakorum, Pakistan. They summited between 17h30 to 18h00 local time.

After the summit Artur Małek and Adam Bielecki went down to Camp 4 at an altitude of 7400m, while Tomasz Kowalski and Maciej Berbeka bivouacked (without a tent) on the pass at 7900m. Maciej started going down with Tomasz staying at the bivouac. On March 6th Tomasz Kowalski and Maciej Berbeka were officially declared missing. Debrief of March 5 & 6 read here.
