(Newsdesk) Today 13-year-old Max Keene, together with his father, Chris and guide Robert Philips, booked in at London's Heathrow Airport with their sleds and gear, bound for Baffin Island. They will be attempting a 130 km, two week Baffin Island traverse, starting from Qikiqtarjuaq and ending at Pangnirtung.
No more training and planning in-between his school work and school activities. In an interview with ExplorersWeb, Max said it was difficult to fit in all of the training and planning as well as doing his homework, but he managed, he said.
The majority of training for the Expedition was pulling tires over a set distance, he said. "We also have theory lessons. I play football and rugby at school, I enjoy shooting (air rifle and shotgun) and skiing as well."
