David Bowie & Paris Hilton? "Branson going for cheap PR," says singer

David Bowie is one cool dude. He turned down a British knighthood saying he would never accept such a thing, "I seriously don't know what it's for," he said. Bowie was in fact milder than poet Benjamin Zephaniah who said,"stick it, Mr. Blair and Mrs. Queen, stop going on about empire."

In New York, where Bowie is resident, you either are a King or you are not - and if you are; a knighthood is kind of a step down. Instead, your actions reveal your status. Say for instance - would a King go on a suborbital space ride with Virgin Galactic, Victoria Principal and Paris Hilton? Even if he was really into space?

Not Bowie. Rumors he has already booked his seat on the maiden Virgin Galactic flight, are "total tosh," he says, adding, "this must be Branson going for some cheap PR."

Richard Branson's branding and marketing style has always attracted attention (the Virgin Galactic logo is in fact his own iris). Famous quote by Bowie: "Religion is for people who fear hell. Spirituality is for people who have been there."
